What is fogging?

​

Fogging is a process that is sought-after for many commercial and domestic premises especially following a heightened awareness of hygiene, cleanliness, health and safety following the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic in January 2020.

Fogging involves using a ULV (Ultra Low Volume) Fogging machine to atomise a specific virucidal, bactericidal, deodorising, or disinfectant agent (cleaning solution) across hard/soft surfaces, walls, ceilings, floors, furniture, equipment and into the air to prevent cross-infection, whilst sanitising even the hardest to reach areas. It provides a full 360-degree sanitisation of the area. Depending on the agent used fogging’s primary uses are for killing bacteria, germs and viruses. It’s also used for pest control – or even deodorising premises.  It can be used as a one-off deep clean to give peace of mind, or built into a regular deep cleaning routine.

The Ideal-Clean two-stage sanitising and disinfection process:

​

STAGE 1 ‘Touch point’ surface clean and sanitisation. 

This includes; keyboards, telephony equipment, light switches, door handles, canteen furniture, taps, handrails and more.

We use an Antiviral Disinfectant which kills 99.99% of germs and viruses, including Coronavirus*, HIV, Hepatitis B & C, Chicken Pox, Rubella, Herpes, Measles and more.  Tested to BS EN 14476, 1276, 13697.

*Although our chemicals at this first stage are proven to kill Coronavirus, no testing has been done on the Covid-19 strain for any available chemical (at the point of writing this).

STAGE 2  ‘Fogging’  the entire area.

Using a ULV Fogging machine which atomises a highly powerful, yet food safe, non-tainting, non-toxic bactericidal, virucidal sanitising chemical into the air and over the entire area to an exceptionally fine micron level (exceptionally fine mist) – reaching nooks and crannies that other cleansing is unlikely to.  The sanitising chemical is independently proven to kill 99.99% bacteria and viruses including Norovirus, E-Coli, Swine Flu, MRSA, C-Diff, HIV, Hepatitis B & C, H1N1 Influenza Viruses, Salmonella, Listeria.  The sanitising chemicals extremely low hazard rating means it’s ideal for use in public areas, schools, eateries, offices and sports facilities – to name a few.  It’s tested to EN Standards 1276, 14675, 13704, 14476 & 1650.

After fogging the residue will continue to kill viruses for a period of time which is dependent on the area that’s been fogged.

The whole process is exceptionally thorough yet takes a fraction of the time of other cleaning methods. Premises should be safe to enter 60 minutes after fogging is completed, but we always advise 2 hours.  Our service is 24/7 so can fit around your specific business needs to minimise disruption.
